Oxygen Therapy chamber

At Elements Float Wellness Centre in Emu Plains, Penrith, we now offer two world-class oxygen therapy options: the AirPod Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) and the advanced Cellregen Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chamber.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers are a non-invasive wellness technology designed to enhance the body’s natural healing processes by increasing oxygen delivery to tissues. While both the Airpod 1.35 ATA Oxygen Chamber and the Cellregen 2.0 ATA Oxygen Chamber operate on this principle, they are fundamentally distinct in their pressure capabilities, oxygen delivery methods, and target applications. The Airpod, a mild hyperbaric chamber, uses ambient air compression to a maximum pressure of 1.35 ATA, making it ideal for general wellness, anti-aging, and athletic recovery, often with the added feature of hydrogen infusion. In contrast, the Cellregen chamber, with a higher maximum pressure of 2.0 ATA and a dedicated oxygen concentrator, is considered a more powerful tool for a wider range of clinical and regenerative applications where higher oxygen saturation is required to address more severe conditions.

Benefits of Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen therapy is a treatment that provides supplemental oxygen to a person by increasing the amount of oxygen in their blood and tissues. While ambient air contains about 21% oxygen, therapy can deliver a much higher concentration through a nasal cannula and a pressurised chamber. This increased oxygenation helps the body’s cells produce energy more efficiently, which is vital for all bodily functions. By raising oxygen levels, the therapy can alleviate symptoms of conditions like chronic lung disease, improve cognitive function, accelerate wound healing, and reduce inflammation, ultimately helping to reduce the workload on the heart and lungs.

Short-Term Benefits of Oxygen Therapy:

When you use oxygen therapy, you can feel the effects almost right away. The main short-term benefits are all about getting more oxygen to your body quickly.

More Energy: When your body gets enough oxygen, you feel less tired. This gives you more energy to do daily activities without getting worn out so quickly.

Faster Recovery: After a tough workout or an injury, oxygen can help your body heal faster. It helps reduce swelling and gets your tissues back to normal more quickly.

Clearer Thinking: Your brain needs a lot of oxygen to work well. Getting more oxygen can help you think more clearly and stay more focused.

Long-Term Benefit of Oxygen Therapy:

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at higher pressures (like 2.0 ATA) can create lasting, positive changes in your body, going beyond just short-term relief.

Help reverse biological aging by promoting the lengthening of telomeres, the protective caps on our DNA.

Boosts the body’s energy production by increasing the number and size of mitochondria, our cells’ power generators.

By stimulating the release of the body’s own stem cells, it enhances natural repair and regeneration, and by consistently reducing inflammation, it builds long-term resilience against chronic disease.

The Difference Between Our Chambers

mHBOT (Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy)

  • Operates at 1.35 ATA (Atmospheres Absolute).
  • Delivers oxygen at a mild, steady level that enhances circulation and recovery.
  • Great for stress relief, boosting energy, and regular wellbeing sessions.

HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy)

  • Operates at up to 2.0 ATA — a higher level of pressurisation.
  • Involves wearing a nasal cannula or mask to deliver a concentrated flow of oxygen.
  • This helps oxygen dissolve more deeply into blood plasma, tissues, and organs.
  • Often used in advanced wellness and medical applications for healing, inflammation,
and repair at a cellular level.

Frequently Asked Questions

ATA stands for Atmospheres Absolute, a measure of pressure. At sea level, we are at 1 ATA. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases this pressure:

  • AirPod (1.35 ATA) roughly equivalent to the pressure about 3.5 meters underwater.
  • Cellregen (up to 2.0 ATA) roughly equivalent to 10 meters underwater.
This increase allows your body to absorb more oxygen into blood plasma and tissues, enhancing repair, recovery, and overall wellness.

Wear comfortable clothing and avoid heavy meals or alcohol beforehand. Arrive 15 minutes early for your first session to complete your waiver, review key safety requirements, and discuss how oxygen therapy can support your individual wellness goals.

Please let our team know if you have any heart or lung conditions or other medical concerns prior to your session. This ensures we tailor the therapy safely for you. Be sure to review the waiver information emailed to you before your visit so you are fully informed about safety requirements and session guidelines.

Yes. Both chambers are non-invasive, drug-free, and designed for relaxation and therapy. Our trained team guides you throughout the session and monitors pressure changes to ensure comfort and safety.

Absolutely. Many clients read, listen to music, meditate, or even nap while in the chamber

Most people feel refreshed, clear-headed, and energised. Some notice improved recovery, better sleep, or enhanced mental focus even after a single session.

HBOT involves relaxing in a mild-pressure chamber while breathing concentrated oxygen. The increased pressure supports oxygen availability at a cellular level.

Clients use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to support recovery, energy levels and overall wellbeing. By increasing atmospheric pressure, HBOT allows more oxygen to dissolve into the bloodstream, supporting circulation and cellular energy production. Many clients report feeling clearer, more focused and refreshed after sessions, particularly during periods of high stress, heavy training or fatigue.

Research into hyperbaric environments has explored potential links to mental clarity, inflammation regulation and markers associated with ageing and cellular health. HBOT is increasingly used in wellness and performance settings to support how the body functions, repairs and maintains vitality over time.

Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy is widely used in wellness environments and includes client screening prior to sessions.

The number of sessions depends on your goals.

Some clients book a single HBOT session when they feel run down, fatigued or under increased physical or mental stress. This is ideal for:

  • Travel fatigue
  • High workload periods
  • Post-illness recovery support
  • Athletic competition weekends
  • General vitality reset

For deeper support, many clients begin with a short series of 15–20 boost sessions. Consistency allows oxygen availability to be supported over time, which may enhance circulation and overall wellbeing.

After an initial series, many clients return for weekly or fortnightly sessions as part of their ongoing wellness routine.

At Elements, we focus on using HBOT as a supportive wellness modality, designed to optimise how you feel day to day.

The difference between mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy and higher-pressure HBOT lies in the atmospheric pressure level used during treatment.

Mild HBOT typically operates at pressures up to 1.5 ATA (atmospheres absolute). This level is commonly used in wellness environments to support circulation, recovery and general wellbeing in a gentler, lower-pressure setting.

Higher-pressure HBOT, such as 2.0 ATA, increases the amount of oxygen that can dissolve into the bloodstream and tissues. This level is often associated with more intensive oxygen delivery and is commonly used in both performance and chronic contexts.

At Elements Float Wellness Centre in Penrith, we offer both:

  • Up to 1.5 ATA for clients seeking a gradual, wellness-focused approach
  • 2.0 ATA for clients looking for a higher-pressure oxygen session

If you are new to hyperbaric therapy, we generally recommend starting with a few sessions to build up to 1.5 ATA. This allows your body to comfortably adapt to the pressurised environment and helps ensure you can easily equalise ear pressure.

Once you are comfortable, sessions at 2.0 ATA can be introduced where appropriate.

Our team will guide you through the process to ensure a safe, personalised and supportive experience.

No referral is required for HBOT sessions.

Many athletes use HBOT to support recovery between training sessions.

Some clients and medical reports highlight improved energy and mental clarity.

I have recently decided to take some time to focus on myself and booked in compression therapy for my knee pain and I am absolutely hooked! I have not slept without pain or been able to get up without pain for months until now!! I also tried the infrared sauna and float and was felt like a new person afterwards!! So relaxing I recommend everyone to take some time out and remember what it is like to slow down for the day in this rat race!
